Sweat Lodge/Volunteer Weekend!
Dear Community,
Please join us on Saturday, May 3th for a volunteer day. We ask for dedicated helpers to show their communal appreciation through caring for our sacred space. We ask that you be here by 10:00 am. A light lunch will be provided.
On Sunday, May 4th starting at 9:00am, we will sit in lodge dedicated to thanking those who came before us. We will start our Spring prayer lodge in a sincere way, bringing them our full attention to growth. Our purpose is to become an authentic heart, more aware of what we carry, and how that affects those around us.

Space for this event is limited.
To secure one or more of the 20 seats available for the sweat lodge, please register online, respond to the e-mail invite, or call/text Linda Reed at (860) 258-9318.
Please remember this is a prayer, introspection, changing perceptions and letting go to open up to your true self.
Preparation and Attire
For entering the lodge, ladies, please bring a cotton skirt and short-sleeve tee shirt (shoulders should be covered please)
Men, please bring shorts (not just underwear)
Bring a towel
Clothing made from cotton or other natural fabrics is typically recommended for sweat lodge. Synthetic fabrics are not recommended, - as some can be uncomfortable and dangerous under intense heat.
For the same reason, contact lenses and metal jewelry/accessories are also not recommended inside the sweat lodge.
Songs in the Sweat Lodge
In the North American Native traditions, it is said the strongest prayer is a spoken/verbal prayer, when the prayer is put into song. The sweat lodge is a sacred place for purification. All prayer songs come from indigenous traditions and respect the sacredness of life.
While we do respect Western religious prayer/worship songs, our sweat lodge is not the best place for these.
We welcome everyone to come and learn traditional Native prayer songs so that you may participate within the ceremony. The best way to learn is to just show up and start listening and joining in.
Much Love,
Linda Reed
